It’s hard to believe Semester 1 is over and we are moving into the 2nd half of the school year.

We are still under some more rigid COVID restrictions and so we are going with the following health orders:

  • Class specific entrances
  • Daily Health Checks
  • Masks while indoors
  • Hand Hygiene on entry to school
  • Lunch Restrictions

With regards to lunches, we will be starting the semester returning to our previous daily schedule (8:55 start and 3:15 end times)

During lunch, students will still only have 2 choices:

  • Leave the school and not return until the end of the lunch class
  • Be in a classroom for the entire lunch period

We are doing this to reduce crowding/gathering in the hallways.

We will be holding a virtual assembly on Monday morning to review the above expectations with students.

It is possible that restrictions will start to ease soon and we will inform everyone of how any changes impact things here at LP.

Reminder of the LAMPAC meeting on Feb 2nd via zoom. If you can join us please use the following Link:

Some second semester schedules, teachers, and room numbers have recently changed. Please log into your MyEd BC Account to see your semester 2 schedule.

Paper copies of student schedules will be available outside the office Monday morning.

Students wishing a schedule change should fill out a schedule change request form in front of the office and attend their currently scheduled classes. Students should not line up or wait in the counseling/office, students must attend their current schedule until contacted.

CAREER CENTER NEWS:

Please see the attached flyer and visit the following website:

Black Press’s Virtual Career & Post Secondary Education Event

Tourism and Leadership Exploration

This is a great opportunity for students to explore the outdoor tourism industry. This summer program is ideal for students interested in travelling and working in tourist destinations like Tofino.

Students study for one month at the West Coast College and then have a 40-hour work experience with a local outdoor adventure company which often leads to permanent employment.

If you want your office to be the great outdoors, see Ms. Croucher in the Career Centre for more information and to apply.
